A Legacy That Lives on

Bob Hanley wasn’t just my dad—he was my biggest sacrifice, my biggest supporter, and the reason I am who I am today. I’ll never forget how he used to drive 40 minutes one way after work just to pick me up, then turn around and drive another 40 minutes back so I could be there with him at his high school football games. That wasn’t convenience—that was love. That was commitment. That was who he was.

Those drives weren’t just about football. They were about time together, about showing me I mattered, about building something that would stay with me forever. He made me feel like I was a part of his world, and in doing that, he became the foundation of mine.

Starting Steelers Almighty on his birthday, April 4th, wasn’t a coincidence—it was a tribute. A way to connect something I love to the man who gave me everything. But just three days later, in 1991, when he unexpectedly passed, my world shattered. Nothing prepares you for that kind of loss at 15 years old.

Even now, everything I do carries a piece of him. His sacrifices, his love, and those long drives still push me forward every single day.
